Join TPT’s award-winning MN Media Group as a production assistant for the Arts and Cultural and Digital teams. Providing a dynamic mix of office support and field support, production assistants are a critical component of our multiplatform productions. The ideal candidate is a curious self-starter, someone just as eager to jump in completing production logs and music queue sheets as they are taking notes in the field. This entry-level position requires strong cultural competencies, interpersonal skills and attention to detail to assist in the production, post-production and delivery of multiplatform projects. Some evening and weekend availability is required, with notice, as is access to reliable transportation to TPT’s studios and for off-site production needs.
Wages: $23 - $26 / hour depending on qualifications
MAJOR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY – Office Support (80% of time)
· Assists associate producers and producers in all the stages of a project, including: research, field production and delivery
· Supports the sourcing of stock or supplemental media, subject matter experts, and any additional story-telling content as needed by projects
· Conducts archival research including photo and moving image archives, personal collections, library archives and others as needed
· Coordinates with Media Asset Management team on media ingest, web uploads and archiving.
· Assists in the creation of social media content
· Creates and ensures accuracy of production deliverables including music queue sheets and production logs
MAJOR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY – Field Support (20% of time)
· Provides on location production support for single and multi-camera field shoots during business and evening hours
· Maintains open and clear communication with the production services team and crew to ensure all production details and logistics run smoothly and efficiently
· Maintains production-related paperwork and files in an organized manner along with accurate record keeping meeting various editorial and compliance requirements
Required Experience
· 1-2 years production administration experience
Preferred Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
· Proficient with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere
· Experience and proficiency in Office 365
· Exceptional organizational and time management skills
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills that foster positive and productive cross-functional working relationships with both internal and external partners
· Ability to multi-task and work well under time pressure
· Self-starter who independently solves problems and takes initiative
· Strong oral and written communications skills
· Open to change; rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles
· Treats others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect
· Interest in the local arts community
· Passion for public media and our mission, vision and values
· Ability to be in a stationary position and work on a computer for sustained periods of time
