      Overview of the Role

      Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for the supervision of plant operations and personnel to produce quality products in an efficient, safe and cost-effective manner.

      Schedule: Core hours - 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. May be required to come in during non-core hours.

      Salary: $104,265 to $136,850

      How you will make contributions that matter:

      • Provides leadership, direction and guidance to production personnel and production supervisors.

      • Monitors the scheduling of equipment and personnel to ensure production requirements are met on a timely basis.

      • Ensures that safe conditions always exist within the work environment; will take appropriate action to maintain the health and safety of employees.

      • Develops and fosters strong and effective functional and cross-functional teams that effectively change systems and procedures through the process of continuous improvement.

      • Effectively uses daily production information to track costs, measure trends, and communicate results, positively re-enforce success and initiate corrective action when appropriate.

      • Ensures the Company’s quality and sanitation standards are met through close liaison with Quality Control, full participation in the HACCP and BRC programs, as well as frequent review and implementation of Company and Government Policies.

      • Administers the Collective Agreement and maintains effective internal and external working relationships.

      • Coordinate with other departments in Saputo.

      You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

      • Superior communications and employee relations skills that are aligned with Saputo Core Values.

      • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

      • Minimum of 10 years supervisory/management experience preferably in packaging and food manufacturing industry.

      • Familiarity and experience of mechanical manufacturing concepts.

      • Knowledge and experience of SAP is an asset.

      • Able to make effective presentations to diverse groups.

      • Knowledge and experience of the Dairy Industry is an asset.

      • Knowledge and experience of applicable regulations, health and safety, public safety and security, administration and management, transportation principles and methods, change management principles and methods, personnel and human resources, labor relations, financials, customer and personal service.

      • Proven Continuous Improvement experience, implementation & understanding of its concepts.

      • Lean manufacturing/ Six Sigma / Continuous Improvement experience an asset.

      • Must be available to work at the Edmonton Production Plant Monday to Friday during core hours. May be required to come in or be on-call during non-work hours for certain situations.
