      Job Summary:

      The Industrial Power Systems Division has an exciting opportunity for a Production Technician II position in Seguin, TX. As a Production Technician II, you will perform the duties associated with the assembly line of Caterpillar diesel engines. Production Technician IIs report to Section Managers and will be assigned to departments within the business to meet customer and company demands.

      What you will do:

      • Align and install gaskets, seals, bearings, hoses, covers, and visual components

      • Ensure that parts and materials used in the assembly process are free from quality defects

      • Assist other departments with problem solving or improvement ideas related to assembly

      • Verify correct alignment of engine components using engine schematics and part prints

      • Shipping and receiving parts and verifying invoices to ensure inventory accuracy

      • Operate forklifts and tuggers to move materials within the facility

      • Submit and assist with the resolution of continuous improvement cards

      • Follow standard operating procedures and area specific work instructions

      • Provide information to supervisors and managers about processes within assigned area

      • All other duties as assigned

      What you will have:

      • Ability to work well with others

      • Experience utilizing PLEX

      • Mechanically inclined

      • 24 months assembly/manufacturing experience or 6 months manufacturing experience and an industry certification

      What would make you a top candidate:

      • 6 months experience as a Production Technician I

      • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

      • No attendance, quality, or performance infractions in prior rolling 6-month period

      Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

      • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods

      • Ability to perform repetitive operations

      • Ability to lift to 35 lbs.

      Additional requirements:

      • Payrate starting at $17.50 an h our with a shift premium

      • Resumes are highly encouraged for all applicants

      • Caterpillar employees must be in their current role 6 months at time of application and meet Caterpillar disciplinary guidelines for promotion
