- CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant or within final tier of exams (Masters Equivalent)
- Specialist knowledge and experience of financial and management accounting principles and practice
- Have a robust understanding of financial systems (e.g. SBS) and have the ability to extract, interpret, and present relevant information for different users
- Specialist knowledge of computerised and manual financial and non-financial systems (e.g. Microsoft packages), including spreadsheet and database packages. Be able to develop such systems to maximise the benefits to all users
- Be able to assess the training and development needs of budget managers and to support delivery and/or deliver those needs effectively
- Be able to manage time effectively, prioritise and organise short, medium and long term agendas and deliver to agreed deadlines. The post holder must have the ability to change plans at very short notice in order to respond to unpredictable requests from both internal / external sources
- Be able to use highly developed negotiation and communication skills at all levels both within and external to the Trust and be able to communicate highly complex financial information to non-finance managers
- Be able to communicate effectively, in writing, with all levels within the Trust and with external bodies. The post holder will be able to recognise when it is appropriate to provide written guidance, clarification or confirmation
- Experience within finance

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our business planning team as productivity and innovation manager with a focus on identifying areas for Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) initiatives.
Hours per week: 37.5
Main duties of the job
The primary requirement will be to develop, track and monitor the delivery of local Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) initiatives. To be the key QIPP contact to liaise with the financial management team and the budget holders. The postholder will ensure that they operate within the Financial Framework set out by the Director of Finance.
The postholder will support the trust's corporate business planning processes, including the development of business cases for service change to deliver cost savings and increase income.
The postholder will be the primary source of high-quality QIPP information, expert advice, and support for a range of clinical and corporate services, meeting regularly with clinical and corporate budget holders to ensure that the current and forecast QIPP delivery of each service and the Trust is robustly determined.
