What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review medical records and assign/verify appropriate CPT and ICD-9 codes while adhering to compliance regulations
- Serve as a resource for physicians regarding code assignment and related documentation policies
- Ensure timely processing of assignments and maintain confidentiality of protected health information
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to address coding issues and improve accuracy
- Communicate medical coding information clearly to professional practitioners

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma required
- Coding Certification (CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P) required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience coding Evaluation and Management services required
- Knowledge of medical record content, medical terminology, and coding systems (ICD9-CM, ICD10-CM/PCS, CPT)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in surgical specialty coding preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer functions
- Ability to remain calm under stress and handle difficult situations effectively
