      ABOUT THE ROLE

      Under the direction and guidance of the Senior Program Director and consistent with the mission and policies of the YMCA of Western North Carolina, the CCIP Program Director is responsible for the multi-site management of Afterschool and Summer Camp programs under CCIP grant funding. They are responsible for the daily oversite of programs and staff development, the direct supervision of site staff on a daily basis, and consistent communication with school personnel, community partners, and parents. Community outreach and advisory groups will be supported through consistent communication and quarterly meetings with direct participation of senior leadership staff.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

      • Participates in the budgeting process within their service line/department and serves as a good steward of association resources
      • Maintain a positive work environment for staff that includes adequate training, recognition, and rewards. Implements a results-based management approach and ensures service line/department is actively working towards association-level objectives by assessing progress towards identified goals/KPIs, provides on-going coaching and feedback and discusses development opportunities
      • Models inclusive management behaviors and embraces all dimensions of diversity by building strong teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to advancing our mission
      • Engage in collaborative planning and program development with all district leadership.
      • Maintain strict compliance standards with all state and local regulatory agencies at all sites.
      • Maintain compliance documentation and program standards for all relevant state federal and local grant funding.
      • Engage stakeholders (schools) and community members (parents) in a manner that reflects the mission of the YMCA.
        1. Maintain consistent open supportive communication with parents, staff, and school personnel.
        2. Address concerns and demands of parents, subcontractors, and school administration regarding difficult situations and troubleshoot with administration toward effective outcomes.
      • Follow and maintain youth development practices outlined by YMCA of WNC and ensure that all sites adhere to YMCA of WNC Child Abuse Prevention guidelines and the Code of Conduct.
      • Participate in YMCA of WNC’s leadership team, attend required meetings, and actively support the engagement of YMCA vision.
      • Perform all other tasks as they arise and as assigned

      ABOUT YOU

      Qualifications

      • Possess an Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited body of higher education. Strong consideration is made in the event that a candidate has received at least 15 hours of credit in education and two years working with middle grade youth.
      • Current certifications in CPR and First Aid are required within 30 days of employment at the designated program site.
      • Certification renewals are required as needed.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

      • Understanding and knowledge of children of all ages, their behavior and development, and the ability to use this knowledge as a resource with staff.
      • Specific knowledge in the development of age-appropriate curriculum activities, use of appropriate behavior management techniques, and the ability to transfer this knowledge to staff is necessary.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint.
      • Organizational skills related to handling documents and associated paperwork.
      • Extensive supervisory and administrative skills including supervision of site staff, and effective administration of the program at designated site locations.
      • Ability to provide leadership in accordance with the YMCA mission to other YMCA site staff.
      • A professional demeanor and exceptional interpersonal skills.
