The Foundation makes grants in four core program areas: Higher Learning, Arts and Culture, Public Knowledge, and Humanities in Place. The Foundation seeks a Program Intern to provide support for the Arts and Culture (AC) program area. This is a hybrid (in-person and remote) 10-week, full-time position with a start date in June 2022.

      Summary:

      The Program Intern will participate in a hybrid (in-person and remote) 10-week, full-time program supporting the Arts and Culture Program. The intern will provide a wide range of administrative, organizational and research support. This internship is ideal for a student seeking an opportunity to work arts and culture administration in a nonprofit organization.

      Position Description:


      Responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to the following:

      • Provide administrative support for upcoming programmatic activities including in-person and virtual meetings and events
      • Assist with general office and grant-related work for the Arts and Culture team, such as preparing materials, supporting the proposal process, and responding to requests for information
      • Reconcile/organize Arts and Culture archival documents in new data storage system
      • Assist with sourcing, drafting, and editing content, including research memos, talking points, and email
      • Work independently and with the team to compile data, conduct research and data entry in

      connection with program grantmaking and initiatives

      • Perform other duties as assigned

      Required Skills and Experience:

      • Strong interest in the arts and humanities, equity and justice, and forward-thinking practices in a nonprofit setting
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Some arts and culture nonprofit experience preferred, with demonstrated ability to anticipate next steps, to take initiative, exercise discretion, and apply sound judgment
      • Ability to balance among taking direction, working collegially as a team member, and working with minimal direct supervision
      • Willingness to learn from mistakes, curiosity, integrity, and a good sense of humor
      • Must be flexible, highly organized and have a proven ability to juggle multiple and competing tasks and demands with impeccable follow-up and attention to detail
      • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the ability to learn new applications/other web-based platforms
