      The Metro Atlanta Chamber is seeking a Program Manager to assist in crafting, developing and executing a new talent initiative that directly connects Metro Atlanta Chamber investor companies with previously untapped pools of intern talent across the state. This role involves team-building, workforce program development, and fostering partnerships with educational institutions around industry-identified priorities.

      Summary:

      The Program Manager is responsible for leading the team of individuals who connect the Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) investor companies with young talent statewide. The manager will develop the program rollout and pursue relevant partnerships with colleges and universities across the state, while managing the staff associated with the intern program. This individual will work under the Senior Director, Talent Development, and in close partnership with MAC’s Director of Talent Partnerships and the Program Manager of the ATL Talent Collaborative.

      The ideal candidate can manage relationships with business, education, and community leaders and is able to manage multiple projects with ease. The candidate will communicate in a strong, positive, and effective manner, both verbally and non-verbally, and be a self-starter with the ability to sustain and move work forward with minimal direction. All MAC employees are expected to work collaboratively with other MAC departments and be team players to help accomplish our organizational mission.

      This position is partially funded through a 26-month grant with, upon successful completion of grant objectives, a possibility for renewal.

      Intern Connection Program

      The Metro Atlanta Chamber is launching an ambitious initiative to connect intern talent pipelines at education institutions across our state with the intern managers and hiring personnel at MAC investor companies in internship and short-term employment opportunities. This intern connection program will dutifully track intern recruitment and placement of talent across members of the ATL Talent Collaborative and strengthen relationships between MAC staff and the staff of our education partners and institutions.

      Work Program:

      • Successfully develop and launch the intern connection program
      • Maintain consistent and effective relationships with MAC investor companies and education partner institutions that are participating in our intern connection program
      • Manage and mentor intern program staff, and others as assigned
      • In conjunction with other MAC staff, oversee hiring events for the intern connection program
      • Contribute to MAC’s Talent Collaborative including completing the Talent Pipeline Management program through the US Chamber Foundation
      • Coordinate with and participate in MAC’s ATL Interns After 5 program
      • Promote the intern connection program both publicly with partners and prospective companies and privately with MAC investors
      • Attend community meetings and participate as an informed expert in community and partnership events including some public speaking and presentation
      • Assist with scheduling and attending meetings & webinars related to MACs intern connection program
      • Assist directly in the development, implementation and maintenance of a contact database for management of the intern program and other related talent work
      • Collaboratively manage communications processes for MAC investors participating in the intern program
      • This position may involve interaction with minors and diverse individuals. Strict adherence to MAC policies is required.
      • Collect and report on program metrics to MAC leadership and provide necessary grant reports on programmatic activity.

      Qualifications


      Minimum Requirements:

      • Experience in career development, student career center activity or youth workforce development is strongly preferred
      • Communications and writing skills for both internal and external audiences
      • Analytic, problem-solving skills that show your ability to balance goal achievement with a high quality of work
      • Networking skills, outgoing personality, and one-on-one relationship-building skills
      • Knowledge of education and/or workforce systems including higher education and community organizations

      Desired Skills:

      • Strong project management skills and/or project manage certification
      • Experience in grant management and/or grant reporting
      • Ability to work in teams and across departments while managing both solo and team projects in conjunction with overall MAC goals
      • Ability to draft and present data in both public and private settings across stakeholders and audiences
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,) internet search, etc.
      • Experience using contact management software
      • Ability to manage and/or coordinate public events for young people
      • Ability to communicate effectively across a variety of media phone, text, email, other online platforms, etc.
