Duties and Responsibilities
1.*Provides advising support to Technology, Energy, Agriculture/Astronomy, Climate, and Health (TEACH) student scholars at the secondary school level, and undergraduate and graduate levels.
2.*Designs and implements TEACH activities including but not limited to, professional seminars, community service projects, a graduate school summer bridge program, and mentoring programs.
3.*Designs, collects, and analyzes data and documentation of grant activities and student participation files including program attendance, academic progress, and professional development.
4.*Works collaboratively with TEACH grant team to design, deliver, and evaluate TEACH program grant objectives and activities.
5.*Coordinates with existing college access programs in the target high schools and college retention programs at University of Hawaii campuses to supplement services.
6.*Develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with service schools, UH System TEACH related departments/majors, industry partners, and community organizations.
7.*Designs and develops an outreach plan to engage Native Hawaiian students at the secondary, undergraduate, and graduate levels to participate in TEACH programming.
8.Provides assistance to address a wide range of student needs including providing wellness, financial literacy, and academic/personal counseling, and facilitating academic, cultural and exploratory activities and financial aid/scholarship workshops to include but not limited to Native Hawaiian students entering TEACH related disciplines.
9.*Facilitates support programming for Native Hawaiians across the University of Hawaii System, by working with Hawaiian programs and centers to present to and recruit prospective Hawaiian students to UH Manoa.
10.Serves as a liaison between TEACH and various UH System programs to design and implement preparatory programming for current and incoming Native Hawaiian UH Manoa students about graduate school.
11.*Conducts workshops and campus tours for prospective Hawaiian students to enroll at UH Manoa.
12.*Assists TEACH Principal Investigator (PI) with the hiring and supervision of Graduate Assistant staff.
13.*Assists with grant data collection efforts including the maintenance of program data for grant reporting (annual assessments, performance reviews, and programming efforts).
14.*Connects students with necessary support services on campus and within the broader community as needed.
15.*Collects student program data and assists with survey data collection. Assists the PI with designing and implementing processes for data collection, surveys and student interviews throughout the grant cycle.
16.*Processes and maintains purchasing records related to program expenses, stipends, supplies, and costs.
17.*Coordinates and leads UH partner, industry and community meetings.
18.*Participates inTEACH team planning meetings, SEEDstaff meetings and other business meetings as needed.
19.*Attends professional development activities including training, workshops, and conferences.
20.*Travels to and from co-location sites to service schools, meet with partners in the community, and attend various program related events in the community.
21.Works outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed.
22.Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
1.Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education, Hawaiian Studies, Hawaiian Language, Social Work,Psychology, Ethnic Studies or related field and 2 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for teaching, counseling, and/or coordinating programs at the secondary or post secondary level ; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
2.Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area ofstudent success, higher education access, graduate school preparation, and mentoring demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
3.Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated withworking with minors in Hawai?i Department of Education High Schools, undergraduate, and graduate students.
4.Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area ofadvising college bound/college pursuing/graduate students
5.Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
6.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
7.Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software,and publishing software like Canva.
8.Demonstrated ability and experience working with Native Hawaiian high school and/orcollege students and their families.
9.Demonstrated knowledge about college undergraduate and graduate admissions processes, financial aid, and/or college readiness and retention programs.
10.Knowledge and understanding of Hawaiian culture and traditional values.
11.Ability to work effectively, in a culturally sensitive manner, with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
12.Demonstrated experience and knowledge of mentoring and academic coaching of Indigenous student groups.
13.Ability to travel independently to various geographical locations in a timely manner. Requirement may be fulfilled by a valid Hawaii Driver's license (class 3), comparable driver's license, or other means of transportation, which meets position needs.
14.Ability to work outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed.
Desirable Qualifications
1.Master's Degree in Education, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, SocialWorkor a related field.
2.Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of federally funded Native Hawaiian serving grant programs.
3.Demonstrated experience establishing collaborative partnerships with University of Hawaii grant focused departments/majors related to Technology, Energy, Agriculture/Astronomy, Climate, and Health (TEACH).
4.Experience with RCUH, Kuali, and other UH fiscal systems and procedures.
