- Identify opportunities to enhance career pathways and job opportunities within the renewable energy sector for tribal community members.
- Collaborate with tribal leaders and community stakeholders to understand specific workforce needs and develop tailored programs to address them.
- Work closely with the Tribal Training Contract Services Manager to coordinate the implementation of solar installation programs, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget, and trainee recruitment requirements.
- Track the demographics and job placement of tribal trainee participants through appropriate data management.
- Support the coordination of training sessions, ensuring logistical arrangements, materials, and equipment are in place.
- Serve as a resource for trainees post training in their career development conducting resume review and assisting with job searches.
- Oversee the administration of leadership programs under the TSAF, including the TSAF internships, the Tribal College and University and training scholarships and theTribal Energy Associates program.
- Assist the Curriculum Developer Specialist with the curriculum development for leadership programs and establish participant outcomes and goals.
- Deliver programming that promotes the professional and personal development of Tribal Energy Leaders.
- Support the development of the Tribal Energy Education Collaborative and assisting in the creation and implementation of the TCU support program.
- Assist with the partnership development and outreach of Tribal Colleges and Universities to assist with meeting grant making goals .
- Strengthen and implement the re-granting application, requirements, and evaluation plan: review all project documents to inform program tasks and activities
- Use effective communication methods to provide technical assistance to prospective applicants and continued support throughout programming
- Ensure timely solicitation of leadership programs applications and assertively follow up on program inquiries and provide technical assistance to applicants in preparing their applications
- Travel and conduct program recruitment when necessary
- Establish an internal review committee to score applications with recommendations
- Develop award and terms and agreement documents
- Process fellowship, internship, and scholarship funding
- Provide technical support to fellows, interns, and scholars to establish opportunities that build applied research skills while conducting professional and personal development support
- Provide regular and consistent follow up with each eligible applicant to ensure fellowships, internships, and scholarships are implemented and guided by project goals
- Identify national and other Native conferences and organizations that target renewable energy and environmental sustainability topics and fields
- Create award and denial notification letters to all applicants and handle general correspondence.
- Conduct regular check-in calls and meetings with program participants and program partners.
- Increase knowledge about the leadership programs by providing information through in-person, electronic, print, and webinar video conferencing, share program information on application requirements and procedures
- Create and maintain critical internal and external relationships and processes to support/ensure grantee success
- Conduct timely outreach to tribes and prospective partners on all available opportunities
- Receive and respond to inquiries and application questions in a timely manner
- Attend industry events and tribal gatherings to build relationships with funders and experts in the field
- Travel and conduct project site visits when necessary
- Work closely with the Director of Tribal Education and Workforce Development to develop evaluation plan and data collection processes
- Collaborate with all National Tribal Program staff to ensure grant goals are reached
- Compile and analyze data for use in a variety of formats including annual reports, public relations material, white papers, and presentations.
- Assist the Director of Tribal Education and Workforce Development in evaluating the outcomes and impact of the Leadership Programs to inform the overall TSAF grantmaking strategies.
- Meet with accounting and operations teams regularly to monitor grant budgets and processes are updated in organizational database
- Experience working directly with culturally diverse groups of people, Native American experience required
- 3-5 years' experience performing program administration as the project lead
- Research/evaluation experience; writing reports and grant applications/proposals
- Familiarity with goals of fundraising within national not-for-profit organizations
- Experience working in areas of renewable energy, environmental sciences/sustainability studies and fields
- Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years' experience performing program administration as the project lead, particularly in the area of environmental sustainability field
- Excellent research/evaluation experience; writing reports and grant applications/proposals
- Strong knowledge of fundraising strategies from within national not-for-profit organizations
- Experience working directly with fellowships, internships, and scholarship programs

The Opportunity...
The Tribal Workforce Specialist at GRID Alternatives will play a crucial role in supporting our Tribal Department's workforce development initiatives. This position will be responsible for implementing the department's workforce development and education programs. The Workforce Specialist will work closely with the Director of Tribal Education and Workforce Development providing guidance and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

This position may rarely require up to 25% out-of-town travel to regional offices and special projects such as company-wide celebrations, team building exercises, etc. Availability to work nights and weekends may very rarely be required.
GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. In this instance, applicants must hold a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Hourly pay commensurate with experience within the pay band ($19-$36 per hour), plus the benefits below.
