      PURPOSE

      The Programmer/Analyst serves as the expert for all areas related to state and federal reporting and performs data analysis to verify data integrity as it relates to information needed to fulfill state reporting requirements from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Superb attention to detail and the ability to work and learn independently is expected.

      ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

      • Work with the team to meet state and federal data reporting requirements.
        • Explore and recommend efficiencies for state reporting, including writing programs to facilitate easier completion.
        • Create methods for checking and cleaning data.
        • Work with building and district staff to ensure teachers and courses are coded correctly for the October State Reporting cycle.
        • Assist team with any necessary data cleanup.
        • Analyze all reporting data for accuracy and data integrity.
        • Research data related issues and questions as they arise.
        • Validate uploading of information at each State Reporting cycle using the DESE MOSIS system.
        • Keep abreast of changes to state reporting requirements and document those changes for CPS.
        • Work with team to revise reporting processes as reporting requirements change or improvements are needed.
        • Respond to questions from CPS administrators and district auditors as they arise.
        • Maintain public facing data dashboards using Tableau
        • Assist in supporting Student Information System with both maintenance and end-user support
        • Other duties as assigned.

      Reports To: Executive Director of Assessment, Intervention, Data and Innovation

      SALARY
      Commensurate Based on Education & Experience.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Minimum: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Background in auditing, data, information technology or complex information tracking. Good communication and organizational skills.

      Preferred: Experience in the field of data management. Working knowledge of MS SQL.

      Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position an employee is regularly required to sit, move about, hear and speak; Is frequently required to walk and use fingers and controls; Is occasionally required to reach, bend and lift/ carry up to 10 pounds; Close vision ability to look at a computer screen for long periods of time is required.
