Job Description

- Responsible for all phases (planning, scheduling, budgeting, and managing) of the design and construction process for projects with values up to $5 million in cumulative budget responsibility
- Assists with defining and reporting on project parameters in terms of time, money, physical objectives, and outside constraints
- Works collaboratively with a project team comprised of internal business units, design consultants, facility administrators, general contractors, and contracted vendors responsible for developing project scope, budget, and schedule and maintains such commitments through design, construction, and close-out processes
- Supervises on-site design and construction teams and communicates goals and project status with CRE department leadership
- Assists with negotiations of fees and selection of vendors for contracts with professional architects, contractors, and vendors
- Utilizes standard RFP and contract documents and manages all aspects of the contracting process for design and construction, including project close-out
- Reviews and approves consultant and contractor invoices and approves change orders to contract documents
- Ensures goals for client service are continuously met through the design and construction process
- Ensures that projects are completed in compliance for quality/functionality and applicable regulatory requirements
- Leads and manages timely procurement of all permits required by regulatory authorities
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum five (5) years of total experience
- Bachelor's degree or certification in architecture, engineering, construction, project management, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related working experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to effectively manage tasks and interact with internal and external teams
- Exceptional detail orientation and attention to quality
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite of software applications
- Proficiency using Bluebeam and AutoCAD
- Travel required to neighbor islands, U.S. Mainland, and international stations (25%)
- Professional licenses in architecture or engineering or certifications in construction, project management (PMP), sustainability (LEED), or a related field
- Experience in design and construction activities for airport facilities and office buildings
- Knowledgeable in principles of architecture, engineering, and construction

Position Summary
Provides day to day managerial oversight of various ongoing design and construction projects. Responsible for the direction, administration, completion, and financial outcome of assigned design and construction projects. Manages work of project teams including internal support groups, design consultants, construction managers, general contractors, and other contracted vendors. Responsible for developing project scope, budget, and schedule.
