      The Project Manager I is responsible for working independently and for providing project management expertise for company-sponsored enterprise projects.

      POSITION DIMENSIONS

      The Project Manager I position does not have direct reports but may be responsible for indirect supervision of a project team and associated subject matter experts. The incumbent will assist in managing project budgets up to $2 million, reflecting involvement in smaller-scale or less complex projects. This position assists in the selection of project team members and the assignment of project roles and responsibilities. The incumbent will be directly or indirectly responsible for a project budget but may vary depending on project complexity or management approval. The typical duration of a project assigned to this position is 6-24 months, but may vary depending on project complexity and priority. The incumbent must be able to influence management at all levels across the company and suppliers.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      There are established policies that the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate from the Project Management Institute is preferred or expected to be pursued within the first twelve months of employment.
      A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field from an accredited university is preferred with four years prior experience managing multiple projects for the Company is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and external experience.

      ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

      Project Management Development
      •Develop, maintain and provide advice on the selection and use of project management standards and best practices
      •Evaluate and recommend cost-effective project management tools and techniques such as development methodologies and project tracking tools
      •Assist Portfolio Manager in managing content of website

      Project Planning
      •Develop and obtain approvals for Project Charter and Project Definition Document in accordance with Company standards
      •Estimate project schedules and associated costs under the direction of a senior project manager.
      •Develop project structure including identification of Sponsor, Oversight Committee and Steering Committee (Committees) as appropriate
      •Ensure that regulatory, legal and other external requirements and factors are clearly understood and accounted for in project plans
      •Develop, maintain, and modify project work plan, effort estimate and schedule. Specify project deliverables
      •Select project team members and assign project roles and responsibilities with input from the Project Sponsor and Committees
      •Identify overall post-completion owner and responsibilities. Develop preliminary responsibility support matrix.

      Project Execution
      •Plan, direct and coordinate activities of assigned projects to ensure that chartered scope of project is completed within prescribed time frame and budget parameters (entire project or portions of a large project)
      •Monitor and manage factors identified in the project risk analysis
      •Monitor and report project progress and outlook
      •Review and deliver project deliverables; gain approval for project deliverables, as appropriate
      •Manage project team members and activities
      •Provide project leadership and motivation
      •Work with Project Sponsor, Committees, and others to: 1) be aware of changes in business considerations, 2) resolve issues and 3) assure stakeholder satisfaction with project processes and results
      •Incorporate Kepner-Tregoe methodology when appropriate to aid in the analysis and documentation of key project decisions.
      •Obtain off-team assistance as needed to resolve technical, business and other issues
      •Provide for team member skills development and mentoring within the context and parameters of the project, as appropriate
      •Coordinate with other Project Managers to assure understanding and appropriate action on inter-project dependencies, relationships and priorities
      •Manager vendor relationships, contracts and performance, as appropriate
      •Provide input to other Project Managers on project management practices and their use
      •Confirm approach and responsibilities for ongoing use and maintenance of project results (Responsibility Support Matrix)
      •Transition project to maintenance/support mode

      Project Conclusion
      •Obtain agreement among Project Sponsor, Committees and other stakeholders that all project requirements and expectations have been delivered
      •Direct the project team regarding retention of documentation in accordance with Company standards
      •Conduct lessons learned session(s) and finalize corresponding documentation
      •Prepare and obtain approval of a Project Closure document from Project Sponsor and communicate to Committees and project team members, as appropriate.

      Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

      SALARY DETAILS

      Las Vegas: $81,700 - $118,500
