Are you someone who can provide outstanding skills to Aviva General Insurance CIO? We are currently looking for a strong Project Manager to enhance our team.

The role would suit either an experienced project manager, or someone with IT delivery experience who is looking to grow and develop into a career in project management. You will be comfortable working with ambiguity, well organised and a strong communicator, who enjoys delivering products and services that deliver the GI strategy.

      A bit about the job:
As a Project Manager in GI CIO, you will be responsible for the delivery of IT and Business change projects that directly deliver against the GI strategy. You will also contribute to initiatives benefitting the GI CIO community and the IT Strategy.

This is a varied role where you may be managing one or more projects of varying size and complexity. Assignments will commonly include the delivery of change across a range of Aviva and 3rd party IT platforms, building end-to-end plans, managing risks, issues, and dependencies, and working with stakeholders to run Working Groups and overcome issues. You’ll be expected to be suitably dynamic and execute these responsibilities with the appropriate level of impact and high-quality communications.

You will be responsible for bringing people together to form motivated and driven project teams; allowing them to focus on what they do best and protecting them from external distractions, whilst delivering to time, cost and quality. You will act as a role model for others with Care, helping other Project Managers to improve themselves. We love seeing you improve and improve your colleagues!

      • Good knowledge and understanding of change governance; an understanding of how to build and deliver against plans; and how to define & manage risks, issues, and interdependencies as they relate to projects.

      • Strong relationship management skills including stakeholder management at senior executive level. Commercially savvy, and a skilled communicator who is flexible in style and responsive to situations.

      • Able to work with minimal supervision quickly establishing priorities and working effectively on multiple initiatives.

      • Desirably, having achieved professional Project Management accreditation, e.g. APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or Prince 2 Practitioner; however, training can be provided to the right candidate.
