Job Description

- Ensure that QCD commitments exist for all work packages
- To manage convergence of all work packages as an integrated whole to meet QCD commitments
- Ensure that all work packages are reviewed on a regular basis with the relevant work package owner to identify and resolve issues
- Manage all project reviews using the work package reports as a basis
- Identify opportunities with work package owners and sub system managers that will result in improved productivity and QCD
- Manage sub-contractors to ensure guidelines are maintained and work is delivered on time.
- Developing excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project stakeholders.
- Support/conduct FAT and SAT testing for the TMS software.
- Produce report for external and internal customers for project update.
- To manage at project level all project reviews and Gate reviews, including organisation and reporting to identify, resolve and manage impact of all variations and internal changes
- To identify and minimise all risk and maximise savings
- Ensure work is performed in a safe, effective manner and in accordance with the Health & Safety at work act rules and regulations, LUL standards and Alstom policies / procedures
- To drive continuous improvement and develop an improvement strategy for the business
- Manage customer enquires directly with Villeurbanne from initial request through to delivery to our customer
- Conduct quarterly and annual performance reviews
- Review annual PPM plan provided by our subcontractor and issue to LUL
- Facilitate quality audits
- Prepare and manage Variation Order cost, assumption and justification for presentation to Northern Line commercial manager.
- Qualification or appropriate level of experience in project management.
- Experience in the railway industry.
- Working knowledge of safety management systems and safety risk assessment.
- IT literate and proficient in the use of MS office software.
- Ability to use MS project would be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge about Train Management System (TMS)
- Experience working within a Rolling Stock Maintenance environment preferable
- History of work in a process/production environment
- Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems preferable
- Understanding of IT and handheld equipment
- Experience about dealing with Customer in relation to project managing and assessing risk to the programs and PPM
- Able to build constructive and collaborative relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of train systems and their interfaces with Train management system (TMS)
- Knowledge and understanding of TFL / Rail industry rules, regulations and standards
- Previous experience in a relevant railway related engineering role
- Conscientious. Establishes structures, involves others and ensures that work is carried out to time and quality
- Technical knowledge in electrical works

Your future role
We are hiring a Project Manager/Engineer based in London at either Golders Green or Morden Depots.
The responsibility of this post is to manage and support Train Management System (TMS) Legacy project on the Northern Line. You’ll have personal responsibility for the delivery of the project from project initiation to project completion and close out phases.
You’ll deliver internal quality, cost, delivery (QCD) targets through application company standards, processes, procedures and tools to ensure that customer expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
Appointment is for 24-months to cover a Project Manager/Engineer who is required to work with Lead Project Manager to deliver the TMS Legacy project for London Underground.
The role will report directly into the Maintenance Engineering Lead Engineer.
