The UVA Department of Music seeks a part-time promotions assistant to help with press releases, public service, and calendar announcements, general office duties, and assist with web and social media updates as needed.
The ideal candidate has a professional and courteous demeanor, is reliable, detail oriented and preferably able to proofread and edit. Additionally, the promotions assistant must be able to work well with others as well as independently on a variety of projects ranging from simple to moderate in complexity. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who is organized and self-motivated, persistent, and has a willingness to learn. Marketing experience and an interest in music is a plus. Computer skills required.
Responsibilities include assisting the Director of Promotions with a variety of activities to promote concerts and events, which includes interfacing with students, staff, faculty, volunteers, and the public.
Preference will be given to work-study eligible students.
Assignment Start Date: ASAP (federal work-study assignments will end on or before May 9, 2025)
Anticipated Compensation: $13.00 Hourly

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
