Job Title: PSNS-1st Class Structural Welder- NASSCO

Pay: $30-31/hr

Location: Bremerton

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled 1st Class Structural Welder with extensive experience in NAVSEA, fitting, and brazing within a Naval shipyard environment. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience and be proficient in various welding techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Possess standard tools for a welder.
• Work different shifts as required.
• Have a good knowledge of shipboard spaces.
• Understand and interpret weld symbols.
• Pass HY-80 Pipe Test 6G (SMAW).
• Pass Flux-core HY 80 test.
• Pass Aluminum Plate test.
• Perform tack welding (SMAW).
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Safely hook up and operate a torch.
• Possess knowledge of Work Authorization Forms (WAFs).
• Follow instructions and work well with others.

Essential Skills

• Welder with experience in NAVSEA standards.
• Knowledge of fitting and brazing techniques.
• Proficiency in welding characteristics of different metals.
• Experience in welding parts in position for fabrication of vessels, tanks, or other structural assemblies.
• Ability to use carbon electrodes to cut, shape, and groove metal.
• Pass standard RT 3/8 plate weld test with backing bar in all positions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in the Navy or shipyard welding.
• Knowledge of pipefitting.
• Ability to pass a two-day weld test starting at 6am on both days.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $31.00/hr.
