      Position Description
      The Complex Care and Recovery program (Forensic Services) is currently recruiting a full-time, temporary (12 months) Psychometrist to work in the Forensic Brief Assessment Unit (F-BAU). Under the clinical supervision of a registered psychologist and reporting to the Manager of the Forensic Specialty Clinics, you will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, with the primary responsibility of conducting psychological assessments for the courts with a wide range of clients who may be suffering from a mental illness and who are involved in the Criminal Justice System. As a member of the Brief Assessment Unit, the successful candidate will conduct psychological testing (including cognitive, malingering, memory, and personality measures to assess psychopathology and other psychological constructs), conduct in-person clinical interviews, score testing, interpret psychological data, and write reports that become part of the clinical record and help to inform the final psychiatric opinion. It is essential that your strengths include the ability to provide focused psychological assessments utilizing standardized assessment measures and the ability to administer, score and interpret these psychological tests.

      The successful candidate may be required to participate in program development, quality assurance initiatives, and research and educational activities within the Complex Care and Recovery Program. Documentation is a job requirement. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. Weekend and evening shifts may be required. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West.

      Qualifications
      The successful candidate will possess a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a strong background in clinical mental health and forensic assessment, psychological testing, clinical interviewing, and provision of treatment and report writing skills. You must possess 2 years of working experience with recognized psychological tools and a strong foundational knowledge of relevant legislation and the forensic mental health system. The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast paced, dynamic, inter-professional environment and in the setting of priorities to meet strict timelines. In addition, you possess effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds is necessary. Bilingualism (English / French) and/or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.

      Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

      Please Note: This full-time, temporary (12 months) position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit.

      Salary Range: $35.33 - $47.61 per hour
