      About the Opportunity

      Reporting to the Manager, and working in residential and day program settings, the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Worker provides holistic care for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness to achieve success and satisfaction in accordance with their personal values and goals. The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Worker supports, educates and assists clients in the areas of living, working, learning and socialization, and facilitates an environment that fosters client participation and independence.

      The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Worker participates as an active member of an interdisciplinary team and practices in accordance with the Psychosocial Rehabilitation model, demonstrating a commitment to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the Nova Scotia Health (NSH). Conducts responsibilities in accordance with NSH policy and procedures, NSH Code of Conduct and Provincial Mental Health Standards

      About You

      We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

      • Diploma in a Health, Social or Human Services fields
      • One (1) year experience in a health or social services or related field
      • Knowledge of mental illness and concurrent disorders
      • Knowledge of community resources
      • Demonstrated accountability
      • Demonstrated judgement and decision making skills
      • Ability to improvise / flexibility
      • Strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships
      • Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills
      • Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills

      • Permanent Full Time position; 75 Hours Bi Weekly

      Compensation and Incentives

      $23.98 - $26.78 Hourly

      Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent Long Assignments Only)
