What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead and manage research projects focused on translational genetics/genomics and public health issues
- Oversee project planning, coordination, and budget management
- Contribute to the submission of grant and contract proposals to support research initiatives
- Collaborate with colleagues on technical, administrative, and strategic planning efforts
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with external advisory boards and research organizations

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ph.D. or other terminal degree in genetics, genetic counseling, epidemiology, neuroscience, psychology, or related fields
- Minimum of 5 years of related research experience in clinical and public health genetics and genomics
- Proven leadership experience in managing research or clinical studies
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with early identification of children with rare conditions or newborn screening
- Established record of peer-reviewed publications
- Prior involvement in grant writing and funding acquisition
- Background in presenting research at state, national, or international meetings
