Job Description
- Req#: 31746
- Develops partnerships with Kroc department heads and program staff to identify mutually beneficial communications goals, resources and strategies to raise internal and/or public awareness and support for individual departmental interests, services and needs.
- Manages all aspects of the Kroc Center website and Social Media content administration; ensures uniformity to current Salvation Army web branding standards; ensures maintenance of Kroc and Corps
- Prepares and disseminates internal and external news and press releases in both written and electronic formats with the approval of the Sr. Kroc Officer and Area Commander.
- Researches, responds to and intelligently uses technology in all communications.
- Monitors measurable outcome data provided by Territorial Headquarters that assesses the level of awareness and support for the Branding Promise; implements corrective measures and improvements in response to measurable outcomes.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in applicable professional field.
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the requirements of the job.

About this opportunity:
Plans, directs, monitors, and evaluates marketing, public relations, and communications for The Kroc Center of Hampton Roads. Develops creative content that effectively communicates The Kroc Center’s needs to the community. Develops and routinely updates all social media pages, website, printed program material and public presentation information. Develops and helps manages relationships with media outlets, civic leaders, and community organizations to ensure that the public is informed and aware of The Kroc Center’s programs and services in the community. Works with The Salvation Army Hampton Roads Area Command development team to ensure cooperation and coordination regarding local marketing & communication plans.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. During Christmas or special events, work may be performed in a warehouse setting with changes in climate, temperature and discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
