Prepares and disseminates news stories, press releases, talking points, fact sheet articles, and other publicity related material.
Explains policy and promotes the facilities, services, and events occurring within the District.
Edits educational bulletins, pamphlets, and informational leaflets; writes news stories, and articles.
Designs various marketing pieces such as logos, brochures, post cards, print ads, pamphlets, and programs to be used for educational, informational, or other purposes.
Uses social media to disseminate information and cultivate public relations.
Assists in managing and updating website.
Coordinates and plans the development of informational and educational materials, such as news release bulletins, newsletters, and brochures for the public and the news media.
Responds to media inquiries, advises staff on media responses, and contacts press for various events and conferences.
Coordinates the response to public document requests and provides recommendations for vital correspondence/communication.
Serves as an advisor on public relations issues on such topics as media contact, public notifications, responses to community concerns, and talking points.
Coordinates the preparation and distribution of various publications to include budgeting, specification bidding, layout and design, article writing, editing, printing, and circulation.
Prepares reports and maintains records as required.
May supervise staff engaged in the development of informational and educational material for the public and news media.

Under general direction, is responsible for performing fully skilled public relations work; performs related duties as requiredPossession of a bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional experience in journalism, marketing, or public relations. Substitution(s): Additional years of experience in the specific fields listed above may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Possession of a valid driver’s license
