      TSN, a division of Bunzl, is seeking a Purchasing Agent. The Purchasing Agent will maintain the current customer and vendor relationships and the customer's inventory replenishment levels and stock models based on history, seasonality and new demand.

      Responsibilities:

      • Maintain current customer and vendor relationships
      • Assist with inventory control to include inventory review to reduce and eliminate any obsolete materials
      • Analyze data to optimize inventory turns and maintain sufficient inventory to meet customer demands
      • Work efficiently with other internal departments in the branch
      • Monitor and analyze demand, product availability, and lead times to set and maintain VMI forecasts
      • Responsible for action on Daily and Weekly Customer Out Reports
      • Manage inventory and overstocks at customer/distributor level
      • Understand all VMI parameters, calculations, and data feeds to accurately generate replenishment orders
      • Develop reports to track all metrics and identify trends or issues that impact inventory levels
      • Manage large promotional customer distributions
      • Work closely with Inbound Purchasing Agents on customer inventory needs or excesses
      • Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets
      • Extensive knowledge of purchasing functions

      Requirements:

      • High school diploma is required; Bachelor's degree preferred
      • 3+ years of experience in Purchasing or relevant business experience is required, preferably in a distribution environment
      • Possess skills in data analysis, including working with electronic data
      • Must be able to follow Corporate purchasing guidelines
      • Provide a solution-focused approach
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
      • Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
      • Must be able to multi-task and must be detail-oriented
      • Must be a problem solver and demonstrate good negotiation skills
      • Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills
      • AS400 experience is highly preferred

      Salary: $51,500 - $72,500 per year based on experience, education and geographic location.
