      Who we’re looking for

      Toyota’s Purchasing Supplier Development (PSD) Buying Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Purchasing Analyst.

      The primary responsibility of this role is to develop sourcing strategies and perform cost analysis and negotiation to ensure our Supplier Partners are compensated fairly while maintaining Toyota’s competitive advantage through its North American supply chain.

      The person in this role will support PSD’s objective to develop our outsourced supply base to ensure overall best cost, quality, manufacturability, and operational self-reliance. The candidates should consistently demonstrate attributes of next-level capability as outlined in the Toyota Core Competencies and meet the expectations of the current position.

      This job will be located at the Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina (TBMNC) plant in Liberty, NC.

      What you’ll be doing

      • Develop sourcing strategies, which result in supply-base optimization
      • Participate in early design work to optimize the part design/manufacturing environment through Value Engineering
      • Execute strategies and work closely with other commodity buyers to ensure all targets, and due dates are met
      • Establish & assess cost standards to reach a consistent, efficient approach to pricing, including timely payment issuance
      • Negotiate with supplier partners for cost savings and avoidance utilizing competitive bench-marking of detailed cost elements and analysis of cost variance
      • Report accurately and on time to all project milestones including reporting up through top management on target creation & achievement, including identifying and negotiating all design changes
      • Lead Annual Price Review activities with suppliers to promote a deep understanding of cost drivers with a focus on Manufacturing Improvement.
      • Understand and analyze respective commodity market trends to ensure Toyota is using the right Supplier Partner and technologies
      • Develop and manage Supplier Partner relationships to support key performance indicator achievement

      What you bring

      • Bachelor's degree (or higher) or 4+ years of equivalent professional experience in a direct buying role, including responsibility for analysis and negotiation of product costs of $1M or more
      • Professional experience in a purchasing, procurement, or similar role with responsibility for product analysis and negotiation
      • Experience with supply base strategy analysis
      • Experience with data analysis with the ability to evaluate and identify trends to support decision-making & recommendations to management
      • Working Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel

      Added bonus if you have

      • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management
      • Professional experience in a direct buying role, including responsibility for analysis and negotiation of product cost of automotive commodities
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including macros, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP)
      • Working experience with Power BI (including data importation, slicer manipulation, report creation)
