      Job Description

      We are seeking a dedicated QA Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing baked goods, recording test results, preparing sales samples, and handling customer returns. This role is essential for ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards.

      Responsibilities

      • Collect samples from Frozen, Dry Mix, and Wet Mix products.
      • Ensure sample composition matches production records and retrieve any missing ones.
      • Weigh, measure, thaw, proof, bake/fry samples, and document results.
      • Re-test out-of-spec products and put them on hold if issues persist.
      • Re-test frozen samples after 3 months.
      • Enter data into the computer program.
      • Maintain accurate and legible records to be used in SQF and HACCP audits.
      • Support Sales presentations and prepare customer samples for the retail-ready bakery department.
      • Include required documentation with sales samples.
      • Hold returned products until quality disposition is determined.
      • Re-test and document the condition of returned products, then communicate results.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Baking experience with exposure to a wide variety of products
      • Food quality assurance testing experience; experience in the baked goods industry is a plus

      • Reliable and organized (verified with references)
      • High attention to detail (verified with references)
      • Proficient with computers (MS Office, Email, etc.)
      • Familiar with basic lab equipment/tools
      • Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds as needed

      Work Environment

      The QA Technician will work in a relatively small room with an oven, which can reach temperatures of up to 75-78 degrees when in use. The shift is from 3am-12pm, Monday to Friday, with infrequent weekend work depending on production needs. This shift includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two paid 15-minute breaks. Overtime may be required during busier seasons. Our company has a small, family-feel atmosphere and is growing quickly. We have recently opened a bakery on-site to double our product production.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
