      Job summary

      We are looking for a qualified High Intensity CBT Therapist to join us in delivering the best care we can to our patients.

      The CBT therapist role is highly valued and seen as an integral part of what we do. Our therapists provide disorder specific assessments, formulation and evidence-based CBT protocols for people with anxiety disorders and/or depression. We work to the stepped care model to provide the least intrusive and most appropriate level of care to meet the needs of the person. Therefore, our CBT therapists will offer a wide range of treatments and delivery formats. Adapting what we offer to make our treatments more accessible is a critical characteristic of what we do.

      The role is permanent, full-time, working between the hours of 8am 8pm Monday to Friday with onsite and hybrid options available.

      Main duties of the job

      We have a CBT preceptorship for newly qualified staff and career development opportunities through to senior management and clinical leadership. As you will already know, NHS Talking Therapies is fast paced. We listen to our staff wellbeing needs and provide clinical CPD, self-care sessions and high-quality resources to enable you to support people effectively. The role is varied and constantly evolving with the evidence base and guidance and you can be a part of our evolution if you join us.

      • Hold a Post Graduate Diploma in High Intensity Interventions or other Post Graduate CBT training qualification
      • Hold BABCP accreditation or be working towards full accreditation.

      Essential

      • Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem utilising high intensity CBT.
      • Evidence of managing a high-volume caseload.
      • Experience of working within an NHS Talking Therapies provider and achieving good individual outcomes in patient work.
      • Demonstrates experience in robust risk management processes.
      • Demonstrates high standards in written communication.
      • Demonstrates the ability to work within the boundaries of confidentiality.
      • Ability to manage own caseload and time.
      • Experience of using NHS Talking Therapies data management systems.
      • Thorough and up to date knowledge of the CBT role, NICE Guideline protocols for High Intensity CBT Interventions, and latest updates to evidence base and delivery.
      • Knowledge of medication used in anxiety disorders, depression and other common health problems and where gaps in knowledge exist, takes appropriate action to ensure these are remedied.
      • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of anxiety disorders and depression, the stepped care model and step-up/down options to aid clinical decision making in the service and appropriate patient coordination.
      • IT literate.
      • Able to demonstrate clinical outcomes and meeting agreed performance targets.
      • Ability to write clear and legible reports, letters and notes.
