      Job Description

      Chromalloy is in search of a detail orientated Quality Control for preparing FAA documentation for hardware processed by the Repair Station. The QC Auditor shall be or progress to appropriately certified A&P mechanic or repairman under 14 CFR part 65 for the work being supervised. The Quality Auditor is responsible to the Regulations/Compliance SME. This role will be based out of New York Facility in Orangeburg, NY.

      This is 4th shift position. Working schedule is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7am to 7pm. Training will be provided in the 1st shift.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      Ensuring the complete and accurate flow down of customer quality requirements into the Shop Travelers, Work Instructions, or other procedures. The approval of such procedures assures that they can be accomplished practically and efficiently.

      • Performing audits and inspections of quality systems and related records in accordance with this manual.
      • Reviewing audit and inspection findings and recommending courses for corrective action.
      • Preparing and issuing reports related to the audits and inspections performed.
      • Maintaining the control and issuance of inspection stamps to qualified personnel in the absence of the CMM Operator.
      • Inspecting records of all work performed in a status consistent with FAA and customer requirements (Reference 14 CFR sections 145.219, 43.9, 145.205).
      • Maintaining a system to control all Technical Data required to operate the Repair Station in the absence of the Technical Data Administrator.
      • Maintaining a controlled system to flow down Technical Data for use by Quality, Engineering and Operations personnel in the absence of the Technical Data Administrator.
      • Maintaining a controlled system for document retrieval within the Technical Library in the absence of the Technical Data Administrator.
      • Maintaining and publication of revision status documentation of the technical data used by the Repair Station.
      • Maintaining a controlled system for the approval and issuance of Quality Procedures, Process Specifications, Shop Travelers and Work Instructions.
      • Maintaining master copies of all approved forms used in the operations and inspection processes.

      CHALLENGES:

      The nature of the business is aerospace and is highly regulated. Each Auditor must maintain their Repairman certifications to deliver hardware on a timely basis. A candidate with the right sense of urgency and certifications to make a significant contribution to the overall effectiveness of the FAA hardware certification.

      • Process / Continuous Improvement; Initiate improvements to internal procedures that reduce lead time, utilize electronic/automated document management tools, and streamline the review and approval process.
      • Ability to read and understand technical information to ensure readability for internal customers, various FAA offices, and outside vendors.

      Hiring Range: $61,000 - $80,115

      REQUIREMENTS (preferred):

      • Typical Education
        • B.S. in a technical or scientific field
      • Typical Experience
        • Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain large quantities of data and information.
        • Ability to produce convert technical and regulatory information into instructions and guidance for a layman audience.
      • Authorization to work in The United States
