      Job Summary:
      The Quality Coach is responsible for providing direct, individualized program-level support to Indiana early education and care programs who are either referred by licensing or seeking to improve the quality of their programming and will benefit from one-on-one coaching. To be successful in this role, the Quality Coach has excellent interpersonal, strong written and verbal communication, and active listening skills. The Quality Coach demonstrates the ability to engage in reflective conversations, collaborate in the development of SMART goals, and create action plans to achieve program outcomes. The Quality Coach is an experienced early childhood education coach who is adept at building relationships, collaborating with clients to reach goals and utilizing data to inform decisions.

      ***This position works within the following counties - Pulaski, Fulton, Miami, Cass, White, Grant, Clinton, Boone, Wabash, Blackford, Howard, Tipton, Carroll, Tippecanoe, Benton, Warren, Hamilton, and Fountain***

      Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
      • Maintains a caseload of early childhood programs. Effectively manage time to optimize coaching hours and stay within the assigned budget.
      • Works individually with assigned programs, to validate their Self-Assessment and develop either a Program Development Plan (PDP) or a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) for non-compliant programs.
      • Works individually with assigned programs on light Technical Assistance (TA) cases to assist with short-term needs.
      • Provides individualized support to non-compliant programs in developing a QIP, including the identification of additional resources outside of the early education arena.
      • Collaborates with the Coaching Content Coordinator to create a customized scope and sequence that will map content, professional development and individualized coaching to the PDP/QIP.
      • Works individually with assigned programs over a period of up to nine months to coach to the resolution of their QIP or PDP.
      • Provides onsite, in-person support along with virtual sessions for assigned programs.
      • Liaisons with Content Specialists and other SPARK staff where appropriate.
      • Refers programs to specialized outside support and resources, such as those available through state licensing, child care resource & referral agencies, Indiana Association for the Education of Young Children (INAEYC), among others.
      • Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.

      Job Requirements:
      1. Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and a minimum of 18 credit hours in ECE with at least 6 at the advanced level
      2. 5+ years’ experience in early childhood including teaching preschool-aged children OR state awarded preschool teaching certification with experience teaching preschool-aged children
      3. 2+ years of experience coaching or providing professional development to early childhood leadership staff
      4. Completion of all required State training and certifications
      5. Physical exam and background checks are required for this position
      6. Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions
      7. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

      Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
      • Knowledgeable in early childhood care and education research and best practices as well as familiarity with Indiana regulations and policies and QRIS
      • Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
      • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
      • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office applications and other basic data systems including internet navigation
      • Must be honest, dependable and able to meet deadlines
      • Self-motivated and able to work independently
