The Quality Control Specialist I ensures accuracy of information and quality of communication on print and electronic promotional pieces. Engages with writers, project coordinators, and team members to cooperatively add value to each piece. Occasionally assists with special write projects as they arise.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for assessing marketing promotional pieces produced by the Liberty Marketing teams for accurate and effective text.
2. Maintains and monitors university messaging, ensuring the tone and voice are consistent across all platforms.
3. Maintains a weekly accountability report recording both the number of errors and the types of errors made.
4. Ensure content strategy meets university objectives.
5. Assist with special writing and other miscellaneous projects as they arise.
6. Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
7. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required, preferably in Graphic Design, Art, Communications, or a related field. 1-2 years' related experience required. While the Marketing Department home office is in Lynchburg, Va., this position is a remote, work-from-home position. There are a few occasions where the Quality Control Specialist I will be required to be in the office/Lynchburg area, which will be discussed after the job offer. Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
