      Crane Aerospace & Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager at our West Caldwell, NJ location.

      Job Summary:

      The Quality Manger is responsible for establishing, implementing and directing quality assurance efforts to ensure components and other materials in finished goods and products conform to quality standards based on the requirements and expectations of the organization and customer.

      Responsibilities:

      • Interface with Customers on all Quality issues.
      • Management, training and mentoring of SQE’s, QE’s and Quality Inspectors.
      • Lead Problem Solving kaizen events.
      • Reporting and Improvement of all Quality-related KPI’s.
      • Coordinating the scheduling and performance of internal audits.
      • Monitor and report status of non-conformities from internal and external audits.
      • Prepare and present periodic Management Reviews of the Quality System to senior management.
      • Ensure follow-up and closure of Preventive and Corrective Action Requests, as well as verification of effectiveness.
      • Maintenance of Non-Conforming Material system, as well as collection and reporting of Costs of Poor Quality.
      • Maintenance of ISO/AS Certifications and assessment interface with 3rd party Registrar.
      • Ensuring that documentation and design controls are appropriate and effective for the organization.
      • Administering document control and configuration management system.
      • Maintenance of the established calibration program.
      • Assisting the management team and providing QA support as necessary throughout all program phases; proposal, contract review, development, prototype, first article, production, shipment, warranty returns.
      • Maintaining Design History File.
      • Responsible for Failure Analysis and Corrective Action Reporting System, (FRACAS).
      • Responsible for investigation of formal response to all customer complaints (SCARS). Daily interface with customer quality representatives.
      • Responsible for vendor selection and approval, as well as vendor quality rating, vendor corrective actions; and verification of incoming material functions.
      • Establish and maintain product assurance standards, procedures, and controls.
      • Schedule and control inspection activities and to attain requirements as specified by product and package specifications, and regulatory agencies.
      • Reviews contract documentation for completeness, accuracy and assures compliance.
      • Support new product design and introduction.

      Requirements:

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Experience:
        • 5+ years Quality assurance experience in the defense, space electronics or high-end aerospace industry in either a management role or senior quality engineering position
        • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience over quality engineering.
        • Experience with AS9100 standard regulations, including planning and implementation, is critical. Certified ISO/AS Lead Assessor credentials a plus.
        • Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
        • Experience with APQP PPAP AS9145 requirements highly preferred.
        • Experience with electronics, power supply devices is highly preferred.
        • Experience with quality manufacturing system and understanding of specifications, gage certification, capability analysis, data and defect analysis, variance reduction, etc.
      • Knowledge:
        • Expert knowledge of Quality Management Systems as well as Process
        • Improvement and Control Techniques; Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing best practices, process control (SPC, Six Sigma), logistics processes (inventory management), engineering management (project management) and safety management.
      • Skills/Abilities:
        • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
        • Effective written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
        • Ability to manage through influence.
        • Ability to demonstrate a strong sense of urgency.
      • Education/Certification: B.S. degree required. Preferred in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field.
      • Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Certified ISO/AS lead assessor credentials
