      Purpose of the Position

      The Quality Inspector performs incoming and Final Inspections on part, finished products, components and assemblies manufactured by Imperial Blades or supplied by outside sources. They ensure compliance with required engineering specifications and/or applicable standards. The Quality Inspector I is responsible for reporting and assisting with disposition of non-conforming product.

      The Position reports to the Quality Manager at Imperial Blades

      Duties and Responsibilities

      Use a variety of Quality inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, hardness testers, XRF machines and other lab equipment

      Operate CMM and Vision Measuring inspection equipment

      Ensuring packaging requirements are met by completing daily packaging audits

      Complete dimensional inspections of incoming raw materials

      Ability to navigate document repository web page to locate inspection reports, blueprints and other quality documents

      Print orders in ERP system

      Pack, document and prepare shipments for high level customers

      Effectively communicate across shits and work within team

      Assist in root cause analysis on non-conforming material

      Perform basic shop math, such as fraction to decimal conversion, arithmetic and units of measure conversion, basic statistics, analysis of SPC data

      Problem solving abilities, interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage interruptions is required

      Consciously abide by all safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment

      May be assigned special projects and other duties

      Education and Experience

      High School or GED diploma required

      One (1) year of previous Quality Technician experience required

      Understanding of basin metrology fundamentals

      Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook

      Excellent oral and written communication skills

      Ability to work independently and as part of a team

      Ability to read blueprints

      Physical Demands & Work Environment

      The employee may be required to frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds

      Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus

      Prolonged standing of eight or more hours a day

      Frequent walking

      Occasional bending, crouching, twisting, and reaching

      Employees may be required to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain work cells
