      Our Business Group in the Italian plant in Vimercate is a leader in wireless mobility networks and associated services. With more than 3.500 patent families essential for 5G, we have a strong 5G portfolio and are a front runner in open and virtualized radio access networks (O-RAN and vRAN).
      Our Mobile Network MW & Cloud Networking Services Business Unit focuses on deploying to customers a comprehensive microwave solution addressing all transport needs. In this context we are delivering 5G Microwaves Backhauling.
      Our XHAUL SW team oversees developing and testing embedded software for different flavors of Microwave Equipment which are built with both network boards and radio boards.

      Your Role

      We are looking for a motivated and passionate candidate interested in an internship in the XHAUL R&D SW domain.

      As part of our SW development team, you will be responsible to study and prototype the extension of Module Testing usage in our development process with the aim to further improve the "left shift" practices in place, even in the development phase.

      Our source code is entirely developed with C/C++ language, on Linux OS and for HW boards that we internally develop. Some automation scripts are in Python. We use Git/Gerrit for source configuration management and code inspection/review.

      • Basic educational knowledge is needed, bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred
      • Fluency in English
      • Experience with Ethernet router configuration and Dockerization is a plus!

      Responsibilities

      Nokia’s transition to a primary focus on telecommunications began in the 1990s. The first GSM call was made in 1991 using Nokia equipment.
