      Position Overview

      We are looking for an experienced and strategic Program Manager to work at the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority in the Federal and State Grants Unit (FSGU). FSGU offers a rich environment for a self‐driven person with experience. The Program Manager responsibilities include managing a team of grant specialists, refining the grant administration process, writing, and editing components of Notices of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs), ensuring compliance with grant regulations, reviewing grant proposals, managing grant databases, and reviewing progress and financial reports. The ideal candidate for this role should have superior organizational skills, and exceptional budgeting and monitoring skills. The Program Manager will reinforce relationships with grantees and will aid in serving the public by leading a team to ensure grantee success in effective and growing programs

      Job Responsibilities

      1. Serves as R3 Grant Program Deputy Manager and assists the R3 Program Manager with any or all the following functions.

      2. Serves as working supervisor

      3. Develops, revises, and updates the plans and applications for the awarding and expenditure of funds

      4. Serves as a liaison with policy making officials within State, federal and local government, private agencies, and organizations; contacts representative of professional groups and organizations to provide specialized consultation regarding grant funding for the R3 Program.

      5. Oversees the distribution of grant information to candidates for R3 program; provides advice and consultation to applicants.

      6. Undertakes special projects at the request of the R3 Program Manager and FSGU Associate Director and provides all required project reporting.

      7. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

      Minimum Qualifications

      1. Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with coursework in political science, public administration, social work, and sociology.

      2.Requires three years of professional experience in program planning, budgeting, management practices, technical assistance, victim services or mental health services.

      Preferred Qualifications

      1. Prefers 4 years of experience communicating (oral and written communication skills) with diverse groups.


      2. Prefers 3 years of experience supervising staff.


      3.Prefers 3 years of experience developing programs to address specific problems and demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.


      4.Prefers 3 years of experience in collaborative policy making.


      5. Prefers 2 years of experience working with databases and Microsoft Office.


      6. Prefers 6 years of professional experience in program planning, budgeting, management practices, technical assistance, victim services or mental health services.

      1. Requires the ability to successfully pass a background check.
