      Job Summary

      The Radiology Physician will support the New Mexico VA Medical System by providing teleradiology services. This role involves interpreting a range of radiologic procedures remotely, ensuring timely and accurate diagnoses for patients. The physician will be available to work during specified hours, including weekends and federal holidays.

      Work Schedule:

      • Monday through Friday: 16:00 PM to 07:00 AM
      • Saturday and Sunday: 0000 - 2400
      • Federal Holidays: 0000 - 2400
      • Note: Transmission for interpretation can occur outside the work schedule window.

      Primary Responsibilities

      • Interpretation of Radiologic Procedures:
        • Provide accurate and timely interpretation of a variety of radiologic procedures including X-rays, CT/CTA scans, MRI/MRA, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound exams.
        • Ensure all reports are comprehensive and delivered promptly for patient diagnosis and treatment.
      • Compliance and Documentation:
        • Maintain compliance with all VA Facility's Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations.
        • Ensure documentation of all interpreted studies is accurate and in accordance with VA policies.
        • Provide all required documentation to verify education, training, licensure, and competency upon request.
      • Communication:
        • Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
        • Be available for consultations and follow-up discussions as needed.

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Graduate of an accredited school of profession.
      • At least one year of experience in the clinical profession.
      • Current license in any state.
      • Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology Medicine.
      • Technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government’s requirements.
      • Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
      • Provide documents upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing competency, skills, certification, and/or licensure related to the provision of care, treatment, and/or services performed.
      • Provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences, including any gaps in educational history.
      • Responsible for abiding by the Facility's Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and regulations that govern medical staff behavior.
      • Ability to complete any required federal background check and security clearances
