Rathskeller Team Member - Memorial Union

- Summer 2025. Availability to work weekends and at least 1 closing shift is required.
- 16 - 20 hours per week. (3-4 shifts)
- Unit is open 10:00am - 11:00pm
- Shifts are: 9:00am - 3:00pm / 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM / 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM /12:00 PM - 6:00 PM / 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM / 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM / 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM / 6:00 PM - 10:30 PM. Keep in mind shifts are between 4-6 hours.
- Rathskeller Units include Rathskeller, Stiftskeller, and Brat Stand. All units are located in Memorial Union
- Each role will have an aspect of cashiering and general customer service
- Handling, cooking and preparing food, including meat*
- Assisting with food and beverage service, including serving alcohol*
- Maintaining a clean work environment

- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to work in a team
- Prior food experience helpful, not required
- Requires standing for long periods of time
- Must be enrolled as a student
Department Overview:
The Wisconsin Union, often referred to as "the heart and soul" of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has enhanced the lives of members and visitors since it was founded in 1907. Since 1928, when the doors to Memorial Union opened, the Wisconsin Union has served as the living room of the UW-Madison campus. Student Status
To be eligible for the Wisconsin Union positions, you must be currently enrolled in a college, university, or highschool (at least 16). It is not permissible to hire a person as a student hourly employee if they are taking credits merely to be eligible for student hourly employment. Review UW Policy 5003- Student Hourly Employment for more information. If school is in break period (summer, spring, winter), applicants must intend to enroll in courses the following semester.
