      The Position

      We are looking for a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in investigating the mechanisms of immune response in health and disease.

      Your position and department:

      The position is embedded in the biomarker discovery chapter at Roche Diagnostics R&D.

      You will be part of a team of engineers, technicians and researchers under the supervision of the Principal Investigators to design, execute, and analyze experiments aimed at understanding the molecular and cellular basis of immune regulation.

      In this position, you will:

      • Design, execute and analyze experiments investigating immune response in vitro and in vivo, using single-cell technologies such as single-cell RNA sequencing and/or flow cytometry.

      • Analyze and interpret data using appropriate statistical methods

      • Develop and optimize experimental protocols and techniques

      • Communicate scientific progress through internal meetings, scientific conferences and publications

      • Commit to work with a proactive mindset and in close collaboration with a team of experts and project members in order to effectively advance projects

      You qualify for this position with the following prerequisites:

      • You have successfully completed a PhD in immunology, molecular biology, or a related field

      • You hold a strong background in cellular and molecular immunology, including experience w ith flow cytometry, ELISA/IGRA, qPCR, and cell culture techniques

      • Your Hands on experience with peptide or antibody display technologies is a plus

      • Your experience with animal models of immune-mediated diseases is beneficial

      • You are proficient in data analysis and statistical methods, particularly with experience analyzing single-cell data

      • You have a track record of peer-review publications in your field of expertise

      • You effectively combine programming skills in bioinformatics tools like R, git, bash, Python with bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of large datasets from various omics technologies, (preferably single cell omics)

      • Your understanding of statistical concepts such as statistical testing and their application comes natural

      • You are a curious and quick learner who likes to develop into new fields, roles and responsibilities


      This position will be filled with effect September 2023 and is limited to 2 years with the possibility to extend.
