Paralegal for Residential Closings, you will be responsible for managing real estate transactions from post-attorney review through closing, ensuring seamless communication between clients, agents, lenders, and title companies. Your role is critical in maintaining compliance, managing deadlines, and providing an exceptional experience for clients.

Responsibilities Prepare & Review Transaction Documents • Review contracts, purchase agreements, closing disclosures, deeds, and mortgage documents.
• Draft escrow and use & occupancy agreements.
• Draft contract addendums.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with state and local real estate laws.
Title & Due Diligence Support • Order and review title commitments, surveys, and payoff statements.
• Identify and assist in resolving title-related issues before closing.
Inspection Coordination & Follow-Up • Track home inspections, termite reports, and appraisals to ensure timely completion.
• Review inspection reports for repair requests per contract contingencies.
• Client meetings to discuss inspection issues and draft inspection correspondence and negotiate credits or repairs for clients.
• Communicate with buyers, sellers, and agents to address inspection-related matters.
Coordinate Closings • Communicate with buyers, sellers, lenders, and title companies to ensure all requirements are met.
• Prepare and send closing packages, including settlement statements and wire instructions.
• Prepare conveyance documents and coordinate signings.
Client & Referral Partner Communication • Serve as a point of contact for clients, real estate agents, and mortgage brokers.
• Provide updates and ensure a seamless closing process.
Manage Transaction Timelines & Deadlines • Track and manage contract deadlines, contingency periods, inspections, and closing schedules.
• Send reminders and follow-ups to ensure a timely closing.
Draft & Send Correspondence • Prepare engagement letters, client notifications, and post-closing follow-ups.
• Draft demand letters or notices for contractual issues when necessary.
File & Database Management • Organize and maintain digital files for each transaction.
• Update client and case management systems with transaction progress.
Team Management • Manage legal assistant.
• Delegate effectively to ensure smooth closings.
Qualifications • At least
5 years of experience as a paralegal in a small law firm or solo practice (Required).
• Must be from one of the states where an attorney is required for a real estate closing (Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, or West Virginia). (Required).
• Interest in real estate transactions (
prior experience is a plus but not required).
• Comfortable working in a
fast-paced, tech-forward, remote environment.
• Detail-oriented with a
client-first mentality.

• Ability to manage people effectively.
• Experience with
Smokeball (or willingness to learn) is a plus.
