What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Support administration of various special use authorizations, including permits and leases for recreational and commercial activities
- Utilize GIS and the Special Uses Data System to manage and monitor special use programs
- Conduct permit inspections and evaluations for lands and recreation special uses
- Draft NEPA documents for special use projects
- Communicate with public and governmental entities to evaluate special use proposals and ensure compliance

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Knowledge of computers and ability to prepare documents using word processing software
- Skills in using electronic databases, GIS, and GPS
- Ability to effectively negotiate and communicate with diverse groups
- Strong writing skills for correspondence and technical reports
- Competency in reading and interpreting various types of maps

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge or enthusiasm for public land laws and environmental regulations
- Experience or coursework related to environmental documentation and compliance
