Job Description

- 1 year clerical or receptionist experience
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Serves customers efficiently and resourcefully in a manner that will positively affect customer satisfaction and cost effectiveness
- Receives staff, visitors and vendors and assists or directs them accordingly
- Answers telephones, makes appointments, and performs other basic and general clerical job duties associated with the department
- May perform other department specific duties, such as: basic accounting, filing, collecting payments, preparing charge forms, or balancing cash funds/accounts

The Receptionist receives staff, visitors, and visitors and/or patients, assists or redirects them, and performs clerical job duties. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. The Receptionist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Reports to the assigned supervisor/manager/director.
This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Please consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for additional information.
Normal office environment. If in clinical department, potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals. Must follow standard precautions.
