      Job Summary

      The Receptionist serves as the welcoming face of James Avery, cultivating a professional and inviting environment to customers and employees. Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff; takes messages and schedules appointments. Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items. Performs administrative and clerical support tasks and other special projects to support the organization. This is a full-time, on-site position located at our Corpus Christi Manufacturing plant.
      Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

      WHAT YOU WILL DO:

      • Greets visitors/vendors, determines nature of business, announces visitors to appropriate personnel and maintains a log of arrivals/departures.
      • Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
      • Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
      • Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
      • Prepares and updates department calendars.
      • Receives, sorts, and routes mail.
      • Creates and prints cover sheets, memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents when necessary.
      • Performs other administrative and clerical duties as needed, such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and recordkeeping.
      • Maintains plant communication boards (Physical and Virtual).
      • Stocks and orders office equipment supplies and any other necessary items.
      • Helps or takes lead in organizing plant employee engagement activities.
      • May assist production control with filling inventory into production jobs, processing finished goods, cycle counts, ordering supplies and other responsibilities as assigned.
      • May participate in the safety committee to assist with safety audits and completions.
      • Partners and assists other departments as needed.
      • Performs additional duties and assists with special projects as assigned.

      WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

      • High School Diploma or equivalent.
      • Basic proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to maintain a high-level of professionalism and customer focus.
      • Strong time management and organizational skills.
      • Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and manage frequent interruptions.
      • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
      • Ability to work extended hours when necessary.
      • Ability to travel to other work locations as needed.
