      Job summary

      The post holder will provide comprehensive and high quality receptionist/telephonist service.

      The post holder will work in a challenging environment that undergoes constant changes and will need to exercise judgement and use a combination of skills to deal with day-to-day issues.

      The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a sensitive and caring attitude that is client-focused and maintain a calm and organised approach when working under pressure.

      Main duties of the job

      Deal with patient enquiries in person and over the telephone appropriately, efficiently, courteously, promptly and discreetly, recognising the different needs of individuals.

      Ensure registration details of all temporary/new patients are recorded and documented and ensure patients have an understanding of the hours of operation and procedures by going through the practice leaflet with them.

      Work flexibly with other practice staff to ensure that the surgery is adequately staffed at all times to meet service needs.

      Other duties as may be required by the nature of general medical practice.

      The ability to speak and write in Welsh is essential.
