We are seeking three Recruiters to backfill maternity leave coverages. We are looking for Recruiters and Junior Recruiters who have a strong commitment to equity, reconciliation, diversity, and inclusion to join our team. As a key member of a dedicated recruitment team for the City of Vancouver, you will lead the end-to-end recruitment process for a range of union and exempt positions throughout the City, ensuring fair and inclusive hiring of top diverse talent.
In partnership with Hiring Managers, you will develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies that incorporate equity and diversity. This includes conducting proactive sourcing activities to identify, engage, and recruit top talent from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. As a trusted advisor, you will work closely with Hiring Managers to facilitate the screening, selection, hiring, and offer negotiation process, ensuring that every candidate is evaluated fairly and equitably.
As an ambassador of the City, you will professionally represent our commitment to reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout the recruitment process. Your expertise in recruitment will be instrumental in ensuring an efficient and effective process that adheres to the organization's guidelines and policies. You will be responsible for crafting inclusive job postings, designing interview guides, implementing inclusive testing methods, and tracking and reporting recruitment information and data.
The successful candidates will possess a degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, combined with a significant experience as a Recruiter, preferably within a large complex unionized environment. Your demonstrated abilities in developing recruitment strategies and building relationships with business leaders and candidates will enable you to establish trust and credibility as a recruitment expert.
Excellent organization and communication skills are essential, as you will provide exceptional customer service, explaining and applying inclusive recruitment strategies, and solutions to Hiring Managers throughout each stage of the process. Your ability to deliver high levels of service, manage sensitive and confidential information, and effectively multitask, organize, and prioritize competing demands under pressure will be crucial to your success in this role.

This program allows staff to work remotely 1 – 4 days a week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program.

Salary Information: Jr. Recruiter RNG 050 $65,196 – $81,496 per annum Recruiter - Pay Grade RNG-060: $71,810 to $89,772 per annum
*Position and Salary will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skillset, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and internal equity considerations.
