In the role as Senior Procurement Category Manager, you are responsible for developing, implementing, and realizing the strategy for the assigned category – in line with the company´s targets. You act as “spider in the web” between suppliers and internal stakeholders from various functions to create maximum value for dsm-firmenich.

Key responsibilities:

• Active contribution to the objectives of Procurement as defined and closely linked to the objectives of dsm-firmenich, incl. commercial (cost and cash optimization activities and projects), sustainability- and security of supply-targets
• Development of procurement strategy for the assigned category in Direct Procurement
• Execution of category strategies, supplier selection and supplier contracting in line with SHE- and Quality- guidelines and systems
• Development and relationship management with key suppliers, supplier performance management
• Management of relationships with and close connection to key internal stakeholders
• Lead and / or participation in cross-functional project- and procurement teams

You bring:

• Bachelors' degree in business, chemistry or engineering area, Master’s degree preferred;
• In-depth / multi-year experience in Category Management and Procurement processes (strategic and operational) in a B2B context, preferred in the Chemical Industry;
• Strategic Thinking and Creativity: Demonstrating the ability to think strategically and creatively, identifying innovative solutions to complex challenges;
• Very good negotiation skills and contracting experience;
• Experience in international organizations and cross-functional / matrix teams, very good communication skills
• Very good knowledge of English language, German or any other language is a plus;
