What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and maintain knowledge of all policies and procedures related to the position and department
- Direct and assist in meal preparation and service for residents, employees, and guests
- Hire, train, and supervise dining services staff to ensure compliance with policies and proper food preparation
- Prepare monthly menus suitable for residents' dietary needs and ensure compliance with sanitation procedures
- Maintain quality standards, stay within budget, and manage the food service department accordingly
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in dining services with management/leadership experience
- ServSafe Certified Proctor/Instructor
- Food Safety Manager Certificate or meet regulatory requirements for Dining Service Manager position
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge and understanding of nutritional needs and challenges of assisted living residents
- Experience in ordering, storing, preparation, and serving in a senior care food service environment
