What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct labor market research and analyze economic data to identify trends affecting regional economies
- Prepare articles, reports, and briefing papers on economic and labor market issues for various stakeholders
- Provide technical advice and information about labor market data and forecasts to government and business entities
- Monitor state, regional, and local economic activity and coordinate indicators with assigned teams
- Develop research plans and document methodologies to ensure quality and reproducibility of studies

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Master's degree or equivalent in economics, statistics, public finance, or closely allied field
- Three (3) years of professional experience in economic analysis, or two (2) years as an Economic Analyst in State service
- A combination of education and/or relevant experience totaling eight (8) years
- Ability to pass Unemployment Insurance (UI) & Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) claim and fraud check
- Must be able to travel as needed

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Graduate degree in economics, statistics, mathematics, or social sciences with strong quantitative skills
- Proficiency in Excel's advanced functions and ability to create tables and queries using SQL
- Familiarity with programming languages such as R, SAS, or Python for data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to write technical and plain language reports
- Experience in project management and effective stakeholder communication
