- Defines and leads the Y-USA Learning Center work on behalf of the YMCA of the Triangle.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Y-USA and YMCA leaders within service area.
- Supports CEOs, Executive Leadership, and Association Learning Champions to assess training needs; identifies and supports implementation of strategic solutions related to training and development of staff.
- Leads and supervises the YOTA Learning Center leadership team.
- Plans, organizes, and delivers in-person Regional Training Events for North and South Carolina. Supports various training events each year including YPN Conference, Y-USA Principles & Practices, Trainer Academies, etc., according to Y-USA and YMCA of the Triangle standards. Responsible for all aspects of events, including but not limited to planning, trainer recruitment, registration, communication, marketing, finance, and support for association onsite coordination (when applicable).
- Plans, organizes, and delivers Aquatics Training Events for North and South Carolina. Ensures training fidelity. Responsible for all aspects of events, including but not limited to planning, trainer recruitment, registration, communication, marketing, finance, and support for association onsite coordination (when applicable).
- Plans, organizes, and delivers virtual and in-person Evidence Based Health Initiatives (EHBI) for North and South Carolina. Develops training plan and calendar that ensures Ys and staff are equipped to deliver EBHIs in local communities. Responsible for all aspects of events, including but not limited to planning, trainer recruitment, registration, communication, marketing, finance, and support for association onsite coordination (when applicable).
- Provides leadership, coaching, and support to regional Y Learning Champions. Ensures effective collaboration with local Ys.
- Support local Y’s by identifying, recruiting, training and certifying trainers to support Y’s capacity to host in-person courses and workshops.
- Manages revenue and expenses related to YMCA of the Triangle/ Y-USA Learning Center. Meets revenue and expense goals. Processes revenue and expense transactions. Performs financial analysis and
- Develops and implements clear, consistent regional communication strategy related to YMCA of the Triangle/Y-USA Learning Center.
- Works across the region to assess individual learning needs and organizational capacity building opportunities. Develops comprehensive strategy to ensure growth and development of staff ties directly to the business imperatives of the YMCA.
- Working with YMCA Learning Champions leads the recruitment and development of facilitators and training teams for Y-USA iniativies; ensures facilitators are skilled, supported, challenged, engaged, and appreciated.
- Directs the design/acquisition and implementation of new leadership development tools/resources (such as workshops, eLearning, webinars, etc.) based on data and local YMCA priorities.
- Ensures Ys have access to and are utilizing LinkedIn Learning.
- Provides leadership and strategic overview of systems to ensure that full-time staff meet Y-USA Leadership and Program Certification expectations.
- Ensures all content and delivery methods drive the desired behavior and mindset shift as well as building competence, confidence, and knowledge. Reevaluates and updates as needed.
- Bachelors’ degree required, preferably in Education, Organizational Development, Human Services, Adult Learning, Adult Psychology, or similar field(s).
- 5-7 years of experience in a Learning, Training and/or Leadership Development setting with demonstrated experience in applying adult learning theories and training methodologies to assess, develop, design, and evaluate results/changes in behaviors.
- Ability and experience in identifying and recommending business needs or process improvement ideas that tie into learning and development programs and solutions.
- Strong virtual and in-person training, coaching, and facilitation skills utilizing various platforms (MS Teams, Zoom, etc.).
- Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) and/or a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to interact and coach people at all levels; proven ability in developing strong rapport with staff.
- Experience in adult learning and training and curriculum design.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
- This position requires up to 30-40% travel.
- The employee frequently is required to sit and reach and must be able to move around the work environment.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
