Job summary
Endoscopy services in Cardiff & Vale are expanding and we are offering exciting opportunities to work in our team.
We service a full range of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy including complex procedures, Bowel Screening Wales, Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA), also Bronchoscopy and Thoracoscopy. We are also actively working towards securing accreditation through the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy as high-quality gastrointestinal endoscopy service.

Main duties of the job
Exciting opportunities in Endoscopy. There are purpose-built Endoscopy theatres University Hospital of Wales (UHL). We service a full range of Gastro Intestinal Endoscopy including complex procedures and Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA), also Bronchoscopy and Thoracoscopy.
You will be offered bespoke training, starting with a supernummary period and an assigned mentor who will guide you towards developing your skills, for safe and effective delivery of patient care. You will work through an All Wales framework of competencies and be supervised in practice until all core competencies have been achieved. Endoscopy services are an all Wales priority and the staff training is at the forefront of these priorities, with HEIW further reviewing training needs and support for Endoscopy staff.
Expansion plans for our Endoscopy services are progressing at pace, including a recent increase in the number of theatres in UHL. We are also actively working towards securing accreditation through the Joint Advisory Group (JAG) on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy as high-quality gastrointestinal endoscopy service.
These ambitious plans in our Endoscopy Services offer excellent and unique recruitment opportunities. We are working towards a 7-day service operating between the hours of 8am - 6pm. In addition, a dual site (UHW/UHL) on call rota operates 365 days per year for our experienced nursing staff.
