      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) to join Maypole Grove, a specialist care home in Kings Heath Birmingham for adults living with complex and high acuity needs.

      Maypole Grove complex needs care home in Kings Heath specialises in supporting adults living with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities. The home has a specialist mental health and behavioural support unit.

      Our Nurse-led team has the skills and expertise to support people with complex needs including prolonged disorders of consciousness and behaviours of concern, and those who require tracheostomies, ventilators and PEG feeding tubes.

      We require a full or part time reliable, energetic Nurse to work as part of our team. Full flexibility required across a 7 day week including 12 hour shifts.

      Main duties of the job

      As an Exemplar Health Care Nurse, you'll work with like-minded colleagues, as part of a multi-disciplinary in-house team, to provide the highest standards of nursing care for our residents.

      Our approach to nursing focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible, which means that you'll be delivering truly person-centred and holistic care in a community-based home.

      The post holder will:

      • Have a thorough understanding of nursing care and best practice including around infection prevention and control, good hygiene, person-centred care planning and evaluating outcomes of care
      • Have a good knowledge and experience of the assessment, admission and discharge process including planning, for service users
      • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills along with IT knowledge and digital skills
      • Have detailed knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLs, and work within the Codes of Practice
      • Have detailed knowledge of the Nursing and Midwifery Councils The Code and work within it at all times

      Being a Registered Nurse at Exemplar Health Care: about the role

      As an Exemplar Health Care Nurse, you'll work with like-minded colleagues and will be responsible for the care of up to 10 service users and supported by 4 to 5 support workers, as part of a multi-disciplinary in-house team, you will also have guidance from not 1 but 2 clinical leads.

      • You will be a registered nurse (RNLD/ RMN/ RGN) and will have a valid NMC pin.
