Kingston Health Sciences Centre, ranked in the top 25 research facilities in Canada, is an Academic Health Centre affiliated with Queen's University and partnered with many other Universities and Colleges in the training and education of Nursing and Health Sciences candidates across the country.
We provide services to patients who have a life-threatening illness or injury. Patients may be admitted to the Critical Care department if they require the life sustaining care that can not be delivered in other areas of the hospital, or if they suffer a sudden life threatening change in their medical condition. Other reasons a patient may be admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) include, the need for close observation by the Critical Care team, or if they have undergone certain operations that require specialized care during recovery.
There are two critical care units at KGH. The Kidd 2 ICU is a 33 bed medical-surgical trauma unit and the Davies 4 ICU is an 18 bed medical-surgical trauma unit. Both areas have highly trained teams who will work closely with you and your family to get your loved one back on the road to recovery.
Within this role the Registered Nurse is accountable for contributing to the delivery of the Kingston Health Sciences Centre strategy. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
We thank all applicants, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted. Kingston Health Sciences Centre is committed to inclusive and accessible employment practices.
