- Valid NMC registration
- Qualification GCSE Grade AC/Level 4-9 in Maths & English or skills functional level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
- Venepuncture and Cannulation
- Ability to demonstrate surgical experience (either once qualified or during training)
- Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information
- Surgical Nursing Experience
- Computer Literate
- Good time management skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with patients, relatives and members of the MDT in English
- Ability to write comprehensively and clearly in English
- Ability to work within a team and independently

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become a Nursing associate: registered in the Bucks Neuro Rehabilitation Unit in Amersham Hospital. We are a 24/7, 17-bedded unit for 18year and older patients who require neuro rehabilitation in the community. Additionally, we have a robust Multidisciplinary team that that a holistic approach in their intervention in order to minimise failed discharge back to the community.What will we give you? Once in post you will be on the road to develop and enhance your skills. We offer each individual an induction in our team with a period of supernumerary, which is usually up to 2 weeks. You will also attend the Trust Induction Programme; this encompasses all facets of Buckinghamshire Health NHS Trust, and the lived experience of what you will do, giving you an insight in the organisation.
Main duties of the job
Registered Nursing Associates support the provision of holistic, person-centred care and support for people of all ages, across the lifespan and in a variety of settings.
The nursing associate works independently - within the remit of the role - to assess, plan, implement and evaluate; undertaking aspects of care delegated by registered nurses and registered allied health professionals. The nursing associate has a breadth of knowledge across the "four pillars" of nursing practice: Clinical Practice, Facilitating Learning, Leadership and Research/Audit awareness.
Nursing associates are accountable. Equipped with the appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviours relevant to employment, they will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct defined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) to which they are registered.Nursing associates will work effectively as part of an inter-professional environment, contributing to a safe and excellent patient/service user experience. Nursing Associates will promote the health and wellbeing of patients/service users across all health and care settings - making every contact count. Integral to all of this is the ability to communicate effectively - adopting the Trust's CARE values with sensitivity and compassion, and to manage relationships with people.
In pursuing these duties the post holder will ensure adherence to NMC standards, Trust policy and protocol, Trust policy updates and the NHS Constitution.
